Gerald H. Bolinger, 81, passed quietly on the morning of May 30, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Clay County , IN. on 9/15/1929 to Donal J and Mildred Bolinger who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Max, of Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marliyn (Neese) also residing in Anderson; daughter Lisa (Kevin) Strauser of Chalmers, IN.; son Randy (Jodie) Bolinger of Noblesville,IN.; 8 grandchildren-Bambrah, Brie-anne, Kira, Zack, Zane, Zeb, Zeke, and Zoey; 5 great grandchildren-Layton, Lilly, Ethan, Nolan, and Peyton. He is also survived by sister Gladys of Clay City,IN; brothers Joe of Costa Rica and Donal of Martinsville, nephew Mike of Bedford, niece Kim of Florida and cousin Jim Howard of Clay City.
Gerald was a sole proprietor in the trucking industry following his work in the automotive industry as a station owner and time at Delco-Remy in Anderson. He served in the US Navy and the Merchant Marines and was a lifelong member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge (#562), Scottish Rite, Murat Temple, Madison County Shrine Club, and past president of Odd Fellows Lodge in Brazil.
Services will be Friday, 6/03/11, at the VFW in Clay City, IN. at 2:30pm with viewing 1 hour prior. Interment will be at Sink Cemetery in Clay City. You may visit his online guestbook at www.indianafuneralcare.com
